Sciatica

Doctor Made the Correct Diagnosis

Coccydynia Surgery cancelled: I can walk, run and be intimate with my husbanc again…thanks.

I slippled and landed on concrete, directly on my butt and suffered 19 months until I found Dr. Kemper at www.KemperSpineCenter.Com. I was scheduled for coccyx removal but found Dr. Kemper just in time. He cured my pain 95% in one week so I cancelled the surgery.

My husband and I are finally able to be intimate without pain. 19 months is a long time to not be able to work, make love, exercise or feel good. Life is great again! I can sit, stand and walk now after 19 months of excruciating pain thanks to Dr. Chris Kemper of Chico, California. One of the best decisions I have ever made is calling Dr. Kemper's office.

I was carring a cake at the store I baked at when I slipped on a loose drain and I went down spread eagle onto the cement floor, hitting my entire pelvic area on the lip of the drain. I did not drop the cake!

I am sure the rest of the story is going to sound a lot like yours. Right after the injury I was sent to doctor after doctor, therapists, tests, x-rays and the pain, oh my goodness the pain. My entire pelvic area, lower and mid back, left side from the mid back to the ankle, and hips. I was unable to sit or stand any longer than 10 minutes and walking was out of the question. Urinating and bowel movements were extremely difficult. I learned from Dr. Kemper this was all because of the coccyx being dislocated and was tugging on my spinal cord.

Clearly the coccyx injury was doing something to my spinal cord.

It is really alarming that the top orthopedic doctors I saw said that m y pain had nothting to do with my coccyx and that I should get used to the back pain as my back was older and that I was probably hormonal . Maybe I am hormonal but what would that have to do with sciatic neuritis, weakness, and a back that feels like I have a 2 x 4 piece of lumbar glued to my spine ? Nothing, clearly the coccyx injury was doing something to my spinal cord and nerves up and down my spine.

The Miracle began in Chico California

I was scheduled for surgery to remove my coccyx. This is when I found Dr. Kemper's web page on www.coccyx.org. I could tell from the info on his site that he knew the most about coccydynia and tailbone related pain syndromes like mine. I booked a flight to Chico, California. This is when the "miracle" began.

The trip to Chico was most difficult for me. My husband practically carried me onto the plane, but on the return flight, I almost ran through the airport on my own! Upon our arrival at Dr. Kemper's facil ity you could just feel the compassion for the patients. This was wonderful after 19 months of being treated as though you had lost your mind.

Results were immediate

After my first visit with Dr Kemper I felt immediate relief. Upon completion of the "Fast Track" program, my cocc yx is 95% in place, my hips are level and my head is screwed on straight!! Life is great!

Dr. Kemper invented this "miracle" procedure, knows what he is doing, is professional, and most of all he cares about us. He listens to his patients and hears what we are saying.

Make the call to Dr. Chris Kemper of Chico, California. If you listen to what he has to say, do as he tells you, then you t oo will be on your way to recovery. No words can express the gratitude my husband and I have for Dr. Chris Kemper except ...Thank you from the "Bottom of My Coccyx"!!!

Headache

Canadian Woman's Ruined Quality of Life Restored

They called the pains “Migraines” and “Sciatica”. They felt more like painful electrical shocks from my head down into my leg. The pain ruined the quality of my life and exhausted me. They called the leg pain “sciatica” but now I know I had pinched nerve caused by my tailbone being stuck which in turn hurt the nerves in my leg.

The headaches were sickening and would absolutely ruin my day. They called the headaches “Migraines” but now I know they were actually caused by the same thing that caused my sciatica…tension on my spinal cord caused by the tailbone not moving as it should. I tried therapy, manipulation, massage and lots of exercise but nothing helped.

How could 5 days of treatment cure so much

Dr. Kemper diagnosed a dislocated tailbone that was pulling on my spinal cord. That explained why my head, neck, tailbone and leg hurt. Dr. Kemper’s 1-week FastTract care has made a huge improvement. It all makes perfect sense now. As soon as he got my coccyx to move again I could feel the difference…just like that. It was a bit like flipping a switch. It is dark one moment and light the next. That is what it felt like to be corrected.

Is relief from Sciatic and Migraines Permanent?

Six months later I am still better. I can’t believe what 5 days of treatment did for me. I got my life back. As far as I am concerned I was cured.

General Pain

How Could 25 Years of Pain Go Away in just 4 Weeks?

Pain all my life, until the procedure

Pain all my life, until the procedure Before coming to Dr. Kemper, I had been suffering with constant muscle spasms as well as headaches and neck pain and terrible stiffness. For three years I had been on Vicodin and Soma (and any other muscle relaxers out there). I have gone to doctors all my life, resulting in little relief and much frustration on my part and the doctors’. My family physician told me I needed to go see Dr. Kemper or consider back injections or surgery.

Dr. Kemper met with us after taking X-rays. I’ll never forget the day he called and said he could help me.

For the last few years my husband gave me a hard time, saying that I didn’t want to do anything, go anywhere, or have any fun. Now my back and neck feel great and there are no spasms and no headaches. I’ve gradually started to notice that I no longer just lie on the couch as soon as I get home from work. I can actually go shopping all day with no pain and no drugs. I have the energy to work in my yard and do activities during weekends and evenings. Now I play with my grandsons and keep up with my husband and kids.

Treatment helped, that's all that matters

I don’t fully understand how the doctor helped me, so I won’t try to explain it. Dr. Kemper explained how everything is connected in the spine. One of the treatments was uncomfortable but only for a few seconds. At first I could not tell it made me better but by morning, what a difference.

Thank you Dr. Kemper!

Disc Cases

A New Man!

I am 33 years old and 1 month ago I looked like a 70 years old man. Several pains in my back and no hope in Spain as Doctors just told me I would have to live with it and take medicine.

So I flew to Chico California to see my, now, "American father", Dr Chris Kemper. He is not just a good spine doctor, he has a great heart and love to help people, and he did help me very much!. My problem was mechanical! He made my spine straight and flexibile again!

Cranial cervical alignment was lateral 10 degrees with compensatory pelvic tilt and rotation. 40% weakness in thigh. Loss of flexibility 10 inches from floor, 5-6/10 level pain getting worst all the time.

  1. Treatment: First aligned with Geometry-based (formerly known as Palmer method, Pettibon, Grostic, NUCCA now better explained as vector-specific 3 dimensional alignment of cranial and pelvic centers of gravity to plum.
  2. Coccyx release with the Wooley-Kemper procedure
  3. Stretching and thigh extension
  4. Within 2 days 4" truck flexion improvement
  5. Within 4 days 8 " truck flexion improvement
  6. Within 8 days 12 inches, 100% strength and perfect vertical spinal alignment.

Now back to Spain and starting a new life. I am so glad with my treatment. It deserved to go so far away and if I need to go anytime in future I will do it.

Best to you,
Juan Jose, Madrid

Coccydynia

Coccydynia Nearly Entire Life…Cured in 1 Week

I have had a "messed-up" tailbone for as long as I can remember. It was just something that I had learned to live with - and after 38 years, I felt I had done a pretty good job of it. I had modified my behavior over the years unconsciously; by sitting on one cheek and switching back and forth and avoiding activities that would aggravate the pain, discomfort or numbness in that area and my lower back.

Over the years I had seen several orthopedic surgeons and "spine specialists" in California. I have seen doctors in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Jose and San Francisco, and they have all given me different and conflicting "solutions" to my problem. One doctor suggested surgery to remove the coccyx, another said he had heard of massage techniques but "didn't think there was any merit to it", one "expert" told me: [quote] "if you would put some more meat on your bones you wouldn't notice it so much" (FYI: I am a woman of healthy weight with an athletic body-type – I thought that was a VERY strange suggestion considering the United States' current obesity crisis…) and another said "there is nothing that can be done, you just have to live with it."

Considering the options, I consulted with a couple of friends of mine who are massage therapists. They both had heard of massage for coccyx pain, but neither of them did that type of practice or knew anyone with experience who did. Which led me to the internet and coccyx.org where I found the website for Dr. Chris Kemper, and the Kemper Spine Center.

After checking out the website and seeing what he had to say about the reasons for this pain, and what his former patients had to say about the treatments offered there, I decided to give it a shot. (My logic was to start with the non-surgical treatment first before I was going to start cutting things off - or start eating brownies by the plateful, tempting as that is…)

I feel like I made exactly the right decision. Dr. Kemper aligned my neck and spine and with just 2 treatments for my tailbone I was able to bend over and touch the floor - after years of yoga I was never able to do that - I always just figured that my hamstrings were too tight! I also had total relief of lower back pain and tailbone discomfort. In fact, I actually responded so well that I was released from the FastTrack program a day early! I guess it paid off to be healthy and in good shape after all!

More than anything though, Dr. Kemper made me a part of this process - really teaching me about my body and my spine and it's health. He answered dozens of my questions, and wanted me to REALLY UNDERSTAND what was going on and what he was doing to treat my problem.

Before you and your doctor get caught up in the idea of lopping-off important body parts, I sincerely suggest you give Dr. Kemper and his staff a try first. (And once someone educates you about your body you will realize that your coccyx IS an important body part…) Besides, if it doesn't work for you, then you still have the option of having surgery. Of course you can have the surgery first, but once your tailbone has been removed and you STILL have pain, like so many people on this site, what are your choices then?

Good luck and be well,
Kathleen Pendergast-McGee

General Pain Stories

Registered Nrse with 2 Coccyx Fractures- 10 Years of Daily Pain Gone After Multiple “No hope” Diagnoses

I am a Registered Nurse.

I flew to see Dr Chris Kemper I knew he was a top specialist in spine pain. Dr. Kemper said he could help me and boy did he. He said my hips were tilted and that I had progressively lost my natural flexibility. I was shocked that after two treatments 10-years of backaches, headaches and neck pain were gone. I can now walk freely for 6 miles without effort.

He was so clear and exact about the diagnosis and treatment. The treatment was painless. As an R.N. and really appreciated his careful and precise approach. The doctor explained exactly why I had pain and why I had lost my ability to bend over freely.

He understands the nervous systems, bones and muscles like no physician I have ever met, and I know a lot of them. He looked at the structure and function of my condition.

Clear Course of treatment – Worked as predicted, every step of the way

The doctor explained three things to me I had never heard before.

Correct vertical alignment necessary and achievable

First of all that my alignment was off axis just a few degrees. He corrected that in 2 treatments.

Partial paralysis-reversible

Second he diagnosed a severe weakness in my sacral plexus, the nerves that go to the pelvic structures. He predicted that if he could free the fusions that were forming in my fractured coccyx that I may regain normal coccyx motion necessary for normal spinal cord function and reversal of the 60% loss of strength (motor deficit) previously overlooked.

Fractured coccyx-induced spinal spasms and reduced spine flexibility

Lastly, the doctor explained how spinal discs bulge and ultimately herniated if the spine cannot bend freely.

He planned a 10 visit course of treatment and exercise just for me. I can unequivocally recommend this doctor for you. He is honest and easy to talk to. He even consulted with me at no charge before the treatment. I had confidence in him from the start and now I have a new pain free life. What a difference! Until you have experienced the results he can get for you with his methods you cannot imagine how great the benefits can be. I recommend you call for a consultation today. His FastTrack program is convenient and very worthwhile.

Linda’s Story

I had heard about Dr. Kemper’s tailbone adjustment six years ago when I broke my tailbone giving birth to my daughter. I had learned to live with the pain as I suffered from neck pain and stiffness, disc problems, back pain, and pain-related depression. I tried medication, exercise, massage, and seemed to be in and out of different chiropractors offices, but could not get any long-term relief.

In April 2005, I fell down some stairs and landed on my tailbone. My health began to really slip. My low back pain became unbearable. I woke up aching every morning and experienced severe low back pain whenever I exercised. Having been an aerobic instructor for 15 years it was devastating to me to not be able to exercise and to gain weight. After a local MD referred me to Dr. Kemper, I went through his treatment and everything is back to normal. After the FastTrack treatment I can enjoy life!

I feel less pain, have increased energy, get better sleep, and I’m stronger and happier. My quality of life has improved in both my personal and professional lives. I snow ski, scuba dive, and bike. Thank you to Dr. Kemper and his exceptional staff.

—Linda M., Chico, CA

Tiffany’s Story

My headaches were nauseating. The migraines were almost back-to-back. I even had a tension headache between migraines. My back hurt all the time especially carrying around my 2-year old. Now I am pregnant and my back hurts even more, especially at work. Dr. Kemper released the tension off my spine in my neck and the tailbone in just a couple treatments. It is hard to explain the difference this has made for me and my family. Don’t waste time, call Dr. Kemper. My entire family has benefitted from his care over the years. You can trust him!

Don’t waste time, call Dr. Kemper!

Ed’s Story

When I found Doc Kemper in 1993 I was in some serious pain. I had to retire early because nothing helped. The top neurosurgeon in this area wanted to operate on my herniated disc. He said I had to have surgery. He didn’t even mention that there was a chance my bulging disc could be corrected by Dr. Kemper. So Doc Kemper educated me about why I needed to have my back alignment and my flexibility restored. It was an easy decision. I love to fish and RV with my wife. Nothing was going to stop me from enjoying my grandkids. Now I can reach my palms to the floor and do everything I want. If Dr. Kemper says he thinks he can help, you must give his treatment a try. Fight back, don’t give in to the drugs and surgery, I didn’t. I am in better shape now than I was in 1993.

Jeanne’s Story

I fell on my tailbone. That was the beginning of the nightmare. My lumbar disc herniated but my doctors didn’t understand that tailbone injuries could cause that. Then they operated on the disc and removed part of my tailbone—big mistake. After that I couldn’t bend over without pain. My career, as I knew it was over. Then I found Dr. Kemper. He was able to get my tailbone moving—what was left of it. He stretched out my surgical adhesion and my pain plummeted from 10 to 3 on the 10 scale. If you are told you need back or tailbone surgery, my advice to you is to call Dr. Kemper. He will tell you if it is possible to restore you back and tailbone without surgery. His FastTrack program is awesome.

Diane’s Story

I had a severe case of sciatica. I was told I needed surgery. I took all the medicines they prescribed but they didn’t fix the nerve pain or the stiffness. I was in fantastic shape until my back gave out. I had no idea it was because my tailbone was fractured and was putting tremendous tension on my sciatic nerve. It took 3 treatments and now I can palm the ground with no pain. A lot of time and money was wasted before I called Dr. Kemper. I live near Chico California but I would have traveled around the world to get the permanent relief I got from him. I am so grateful. I have no words except thank you Dr. Kemper and staff. You save my career and improved my life. Call him now, Doc Kemper can help you if he says he can!

—Diane
